Health Advisory: Monkeypox Update

First probable case of monkeypox reported in Kitsap County. The resident, an adult male, tested positive this week for Orthopoxvirus. The CDC will conduct follow-up testing to confirm the case. Actions Requested Be aware of recent cases of Monkeypox identified in King County residents that did not report any travel during the exposure period, suggesting local virus transmission. Report suspected cases of Monkeypox virus infection to Kitsap Public Health District 24/7 by calling 360-728-2235 or use the Reportable Disease Fax Form and fax to 360-813-1168 with any corresponding lab results. Health Advisory: H5 Avian Influenza Updates

Actions Requested Be aware, on Wednesday June 29, 2022, a backyard flock of ducks in Kitsap County tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influence (HPAI). Health Advisory: COVID-19 Updates for Providers

Actions Requested Be aware, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup have concluded that vaccines are safe and effective for children 6 months and older are eligible for a primary series of COVID 19 vaccine.
