Health Advisory: Update on local pertussis activity

ACTIONS REQUESTED BE AWARE of local pertussis activity and consider pertussis in patients exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness. Diagnosing pertussis can be difficult, particularly during the early (catarrhal) stage of illness, which may present with non-specific symptoms and might not initially include a cough. Kitsap Respiratory Illness Report: Sept. 29 – Oct. 5

In week ending October 5, local indicators for COVID-19 showed low level of activity. Local indicators for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained minimal. 1.7% of emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, and fewer than 10 visits were attributable to either influenza or RSV. Health Advisory: 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccines approved

ACTIONS REQUESTED  BE AWARE that updated (2024–2025) COVID-19 vaccines have been approved and authorized by the FDA. The new formulations provide better protection against currently circulating COVID-19 variants.
