In week ending March 9, local indicators for influenza were elevated but approaching baseline levels. Indicators for COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) were low.

1.2% of emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, 0.7% were attributable to influenza, and fewer than 10 visits were attributable to RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 40 positive COVID-19 tests (8.2% of specimens tested), 40 positive influenza tests (30 influenza A, 10 influenza B; 9.9% of specimens tested), and three positive RSV tests (1.5% of specimens tested).

On average, around 11 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.

At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been five COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no influenza outbreaks.
