In the week ending March 2, local indicators for influenza continued to decrease but remained elevated. Indicators for COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained elevated.

1.5% of emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, 0.7% were attributable to influenza, and fewer than 10 visits were attributable to RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 49 positive COVID-19 tests (8.8% of specimens tested), 29 positive influenza tests (21 influenza A, 8 influenza B; 6.8% of specimens tested), and five positive RSV tests (2.1% of specimens tested).

On average, around 11 hospital beds at Saint Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.

At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been four COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no influenza outbreaks.
