In week ending Feb. 24, local indicators for influenza decreased but remained elevated. Indicators for COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) continued to decrease.

1.2% of emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, 0.9% were attributable to influenza, and fewer than 10 visits were attributable to RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 60 positive COVID-19 tests (11.4% of specimens tested), 36 positive influenza tests (29 influenza A, 7 influenza B; 8.0% of specimens tested), and 5 positive RSV tests (2.2% of specimens tested).

On average, around 12 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.

At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been six COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no influenza outbreaks.
