Kitsap Respiratory Illness Report: Feb. 4 to Feb. 10

In week ending Feb. 10, local indicators for COVID-19, influenza and RSV remained elevated. Influenza indicators rebounded following decreases the previous week.

2.4% of emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, 0.7% were attributable to influenza, and fewer than 10 visits were attributable to RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 81 positive COVID-19 tests (13.2% of specimens tested), 54 positive influenza tests (47 influenza A, 7 influenza B; 11.1% of specimens tested), and 11 positive RSV tests (5.2% of specimens tested).

On average, around 11 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.

At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been seven COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and two influenza outbreaks.
