In week the week ending on Feb. 17, local indicators for influenza remained elevated. Indicators for COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) continued to decline but remained slightly above what we’d expect to see outside of respiratory season.

1.4% of emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, 1.1% were attributable to influenza, and fewer than 10 visits were attributable to RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 64 positive COVID-19 tests (11.2% of specimens tested), 48 positive influenza tests (44 influenza A, 4 influenza B; 10.8% of specimens tested), and 9 positive RSV tests (4.0% of specimens tested).

On average, fewer than 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.

At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been five COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and one influenza outbreak.
