In the week ending Jan. 13, local indicators for influenza and RSV remained high, and COVID-19 remained elevated. Statewide, RSV activity appears to be declining.
2.8% of emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, 1.3% were attributable to influenza, and 1.1% were attributable to RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 95 positive COVID-19 tests (14.1% of specimens tested), 53 positive influenza tests (42 influenza A, 11 influenza B; 9.9% of specimens tested), and 29 positive RSV tests (10.7% of specimens tested).
On average, around 13 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients. Vital records have identified three COVID-19-associated deaths and no influenza-associated deaths occurring in the past 28 days.
At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been six COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no influenza outbreaks.
