In the week ending 12/02/2023, local indicators for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), COVID-19 and influenza activity in Kitsap County all showed increases, with RSV labs and ED visits approaching seasonal peak levels.

1.9% of emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, 0.7% were attributable to RSV, and there were fewer than ten ED visits attributable to influenza. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 85 positive COVID-19 tests (10.5% of specimens tested), 32 positive influenza tests (30 influenza A, 2 influenza B; 5.8% of specimens tested), and 42 positive RSV tests (14.2% of specimens tested).

On average, around 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.

At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been five COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no influenza outbreaks.
