Kitsap Respiratory Illness Report: Oct. 13-19

In the week ending October 19, local indicators for COVID-19 showed a very low level of activity. Local indicators for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained minimal.

Fewer than 10 emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to COVID-19, influenza or RSV. Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 18 positive COVID-19 tests (3.8% of specimens tested), 12 positive influenza tests (10 influenza A, 2 influenza B; 3.8% of specimens tested), and 0 positive RSV tests (0.0% of specimens tested).

On average, fewer than 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center were in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients.

At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been four COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no influenza outbreaks.
