Kitsap Respiratory Illness Report: June 23 – July 20

In the week ending July 20, local indicators for COVID-19 were elevated, but appeared to be holding steady. Local indicators for influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remained low.

1.5% of emergency department visits were attributable to COVID-19, and fewer than 10 emergency department (ED) visits were attributable to either influenza or RSV.  Kitsap sentinel reporting labs reported 67 positive COVID-19 tests (17.8% of specimens tested), two positive influenza tests (1 influenza A, 1 influenza B; 1.6% of specimens tested), and 0 positive RSV tests.

On average, fewer than 10 hospital beds at St. Michael Medical Center have been in use per day for COVID-19 or influenza patients for the past 15 weeks.

At Kitsap long-term care facilities, there have been five COVID-19 outbreaks reported in the past four reporting weeks, and no influenza outbreaks.
